How long is the recovery time for dental implants?
Dental implant recovery happens in stages:
Immediate recovery (1-2 days): - Some swelling and mild discomfort - Rest recommended - Soft foods only
First week: - Gradual return to normal activities - Most patients work the next day - Continue soft foods
2-4 weeks: - Sutures dissolve or are removed - Minimal discomfort - Gradual return to normal diet
3-6 months: - Osseointegration (bone fusing to implant) - Temporary tooth worn during this period - Final crown placed after healing complete
With immediate load implants (Teeth-in-a-Day), you can have temporary teeth the same day as surgery, so you're never without teeth.
Our team monitors your healing and is available for any concerns during recovery.
